Direct Thermal labels

Direct Thermal labels

What Are Direct Thermal Labels?

Direct Thermal labels are labels that are printed in a thermal printer without the use of a thermal ribbon. They are guaranteed to work every time in any thermal printer.

What Are the Features of Direct Thermal Labels?

Direct Thermal labels are best suggested for short term use. Although durable, they can darken over time due to age or exposure to heat or light.  They are generally not expected to last over a year.

Direct Thermal labels are heat activated and do not require a ribbon. They are also a cost-effective option as the need for ribbons is not required - thus lowering the overall cost.

Our Direct Thermal labels are available in permanent adhesive and removable adhesive.  Permanent adhesive will ensure that your labels will stick to boxes etc. for goods delivery and will not come off in transit.

In fact, if you try to remove a Direct Thermal label with permanent adhesive, you will find that the label will tear and will leave a sticky residue on the box.  It is very evident if these labels have been tampered with.

A variety of label sizes, core sizes and labels per roll are readily available, and if you can't find the size you require please contact us for a custom quote.

Where Can Direct Thermal Labels Be Used?

The plain direct thermal barcode labels are used regularly in mailing, small parcel delivery, retail and food industries where long term labelling is not required and goods are mostly kept out of sunlight and heat.
