Everything You Need to Know about Carbonless Copy Paper

What is Carbonless Copy Paper?

Carbonless paper is an eco-friendly version of carbon copy paper also knows as NCR (no carbon required) paper. When it comes to creating a duplicate form for invoicing, invoice books, receipt books or other business forms, NCR paper offers a great way to provide a legible and clean copy of a quote, receipt or any other business transaction form. These forms are biodegradable and stain-free which makes them a lot more popular than the outdated carbon copy paper.

How Is the Image Produced?

Carbonless Copy Paper

The image transfer is not created with a waxy carbon sheet placed between the copies. Instead, it is created from the chemical coatings on the front and/or back of each sheet of paper that react when the two sheets touch. And when you apply pressure on the top sheet with a ballpoint pen, this chemical reaction transfers the image onto the second and/or third copy.
